I hope this Business Week article is widely circulated and that anybody considering purchasing an HD DVD player reads it first.

Indeed I hope lots of rumours are widely publicised to confuse consumers even more. If people going HD DVD is so insignificant anyway, why would people considering HD DVD be a worry?
I love how you pass no comment on the HD DVD userbase jumping 80% in the past month. That surely shows that the desire is there?

Chris thinks everybody should love blu-ray like he does.
There are 30 million people out there stompin' at the bit to go out and buy a blu-ray player. Don't you guys KNOW that?? Come on, wise up!

So how many of those PS3's are being connected to HDTV's? We know 100% of the HD DVD players are - no other reason to buy one.

It's really incredible how many ways the studios can say the SAME thing over and over.
It's like a word game. 10 different statements. One result. Neutral. |

Sounds to me like another VP spreading FUD.
I don't see it much differently than Michael Bay's "everyone deep inside hollywood knows blu is where it's at"

I'm not gonna lie... This does worry me... why would a vp from one of the blu studios say that if it wasn't true? wouldn't he be in the know?? I would think the blu camp would keep them up to date... It's got a bad feeling for hd dvd supporters written all over it.. luckily i got a ps3 i guess...

Doesn't worry me one bit. As much as I prefer HD, I've always intended on also buying a BD player when it makes sense for me to. If the PS3 actually had something worth playing to me, I'd have one long ago but it doesn't offer anything worthwhile. Many of the important once exclusive titles are gone, leaves me with little motivation to actually spend $400 for just a BD player.
I still rather have an affordable standalone with finalized specs over a PS3. |

Rumors are fun to fantasize about, but I don't take much stock in them really. Hope it does happen, because two formats fighting for a small share of media/hardware sales will kill both off eventually. I still have about 70 SACDs and about 30 DVDAudio cds in my collection, but will not buy any more because, well, it's dead format. Why bother? |
