If price was equal, then it would be only studio preference that would be the thing to separate the 2 formats. IMO, Uni has enough titles to be considered as does Paramount/DW.

True, I'm basing all this on from past history. When VHS won, the betamax owners had to buy into it or be left behind. The mass market will obviously buy whatever is out there to jump on the train going forward (whether HD-DVD or Blu-ray). It might be slower for BDA to get the masses on the train, but most will eventually buy the ticket and enjoy the ride.

I can careless who wins! I do believe if Blu-ray wins, IMO you will see cheaper blu-ray players. There will be more companys wanting a bite of the blu-ray pie. The competition IMO would increase due to every company concentrating on the blu-ray format.

But this is also a rumor! So who knows. I'll just continue to enjoy both sides!

I just hope that one side wins too. It would suck if both formats died out because DVD is "good enough" for J6P. That's my only fear in the war. Who cares who wins. Who cares what studio supports who. What is MOST important is that at least one of them make it.

Based on what? Title sales?

Transformers sold more DVD's in one week then BOTH formats have sold in 20 months!

From an intial sales spurt of hardware and artificially inflated disc sales perspective maybe, but from a mass production/mass market acceptance perspect, HD DVD is probably the more attractive platform, it's simply the studio support that is holding it back.

Exactly. HD DVD is simply much more consumer friendly. There is nothing wrong with Blu-Ray spec wise, it's just way too expensive for the average consumer.

What I would realy like to know is why Warner is offering the BOGO to Blu-Ray only. Why not have to same offer for HD DVD? Maybe in two weeks they will or is there some deeper reason why they haven't offered one for HD DVD. I've already got most of the Warner titles I would want that they are selling at 1/2 price but it kind of bothers me.

Disney and Sony I really don't care about. They have choned sides and can do what they want. Even Fox I really don't care about but Warner should offer the same sale to both sides. I don't buy into they are clearing out BD discs to go HD DVD, not yet anyway. I would accept that Sony said they would stamp the discs for free if they offered a sale though.
