I just did. BD titles totaled 145,000+ while transformers has sold over that since it's release.

That too difficult to understand?

The biggest issue that the charts show is that NEITHER format is selling! Or should we just ignore that also?

If anyone's guilty of bullshit figures it's the BDA

We sold 225'000 copies of spider-man 3 anyone

oh, right, those were SHIPPED numbers

How about all the bullshit they kick up about 1080p inputs

Or the old we have 97% of the hi def player market but please don't count 80% of that market for attach rates because those machines are just for games...

You are aware that the BDA makes blu-ray not HD DVD right?

How is that not relevant?

It shows that Paramount sold 143,536 BDs up to September.

Depending on who you believe, Transformers sold 190k copies in it's first week, and if you don't believe that figure, it was at least a significant proportion of 143k.

In any case, Paramount didn't drop BD in an attempt to enhance it's Transformers sales, so the "they would've made more profit if they had it on BD!" is a waste of time. Even the grand total of HD + potential BD sales is nothing on the SD sales. No, Paramount are in this for the long term, something many don't seem to think about.

Yes - the BD zealots love to quote numbers except when they don't benefit them . . .

First weeks sales of discs . . .

The Rat - 65,000

Cars - 25,000

With over 2 million BD players . . .

Excuse me hippy, but you sound like you have read a copy of the "BDA´s field manual for marketing volunteers (unpaid)" and are using it against the fanboys with broken record syndrom. Can i have a copy, please?

It's like Transformers when they dump Megatron and Jon Voight says, the remainders of the dead aliens will be destroyed and dumped in the deepest part of the ocean... something along those lines

Good to hear Paramount... I wonder if Sony will count these destroyed discs to there stats...

I've only got version 1.0. It's good for another couple of months then I'm going to have to upgrade to guidebook 1.1

Supposedly disney will be sponsoring guidebook 2.0 but that won't be necessary till around august of next year so we're not talking about that one yet...

Umm, HD DVD films and the Venturer HD DVD player? Why what's your Wal-Mart stocking? They expect to sell that Venturer HD DVD player off the shelves. It's nice to see Wal-Mart Canada "Will Not Carry" Blu-Ray Player, just movies.

Because almost 33 million people live in Canada. And they have a high per capita income level.

That help?

Not really. One thing I do know is that they are really tight with their money (bordering on downright cheap). Guess that's why Walmart Canada is selling cheap Toshiba/Venturer players, eh?

He's right lee. The BDA only wants people who'll waste money on over-priced incomplete beta units, not level headed consumers who actually think about their purchases

They want brand junkies who'll pay 3 times what a product is worth simply because it has a french homosexual's name eblazoned across it like a billboard

Why go after people on limited incomes when they only account for about 95% percent of the population...

No, I don't. Really. We'll leave that to Toshiba and Venturer (since that's all they seem to produce).

Hippy: French homosexuals. Oh la la. I didn't know Lee was French.
