And I saw a report where the majority of medicine and ingredients to manufacture medicines originate in China, where there are no inspections and regulations. US manufacturers are allowed to "inspect" these locations, but only after a time is "scheduled" for inspection by the Chinese authorities. Wonder what else is put in our medicines that we don't know about?

Now back to our bitch fest and cat fight.
Finally a good post from you and I agree with it.

The problem is companies look only to the next quarter's financial reports so that the executives get increased stock value. Once the USA is no longer a economic powerhouse, they will lose most of those sales and are cutting their own throats down the road. By then the execs hope to retire on their stock options though.

So much for BD fans claiming that your can still get Paramount titles for BD.

The BD/HD release counts shifted by almost 60 titles in favour of HD DVD as a result of this switch and the decision to destroy the BD inventory.

It also shows quite clearly that Paramount has no intention of supporting BD again in any short term timeframe.

Not going to happen for either format.

Chinese company gets thousands of prisoners from Chinese labor camps. Locks them in room, throws big bowl of rice in room for them to eat. Keeps them locked in for 18 hours. Labor costs: probably less than $2 (the cost of the bowl of rice and electric to boil the water for the rice).

Cheap plastic parts for player: Use the same as above, but at a plastics factory owned by some Chinese company who does the same.

Box to pack the crap in: Use the same as above, but at a box company in China doing the same.

Print literature: See above

Transport to USA: Probably their biggest expense, since they won't let the prisoners fly airplanes or leave the country.

Meant to be a joke, but sadly, probably not far from the truth.

From seeing the insides of the A2 and the A3, probably cost to produce is around $8.
Now substitute "Sony" for "Toshiba" and "PS3" for "A3".

Surely you know the PS3 is built in China? If it wasn't, Sony's loss on the PS3 would probably be an additional Billion dollars.

Uhm, Chris, have you looked at the individual title sales of BD? Now compare that to how many discs they thought they would sell with millions of players in the field. Who do you think needs the bigger warehouse?

Then there's the warehouses to hold the reject 50GB BD discs due to bad yield (Sony says 75%-80%, other replicators are much lower).

Well, from what I've heard Sony is losing their shirt with Blu-Ray, and companies like Panasonic, LG, Samsung, Sharp, and Pioneer etc. are not very happy with BD stand alone player sales. Oh, but wait Sony is selling PS3's right? As BD players right?

Sony is $3 Billion in the hole due to the PS3, Blu-Ray & the exploding batteries, or I think the Batteries are not included in that $3 Billion problem.

I guess there's no more money in the kitty for any new studio purchases this year. Too bad, Warner can't be bought so cheaply, like Parawhore!
While entertaining, posts like this make less and less sense.
