Default Which Studio is doing Rambo 4?

I saw the movie trailer on the weekend and it looks interesting. I'm not sure if Weinstein Co. is doing this film or someone else. Does anybody know?

The first 3 Rambo's are for sale on HD DVD at Xploited Cinema's website.

Weinstein is producing it. Lionsgate is distributing it. . .

Who is surprised by that one?

Oh man, is this from the same trailer he shopped around at Cannes? That was INSANE. I vividly remember Rambo blowing away a guy point blank with a .50 calibre machinegun. Dude just exploded into millions of little pieces.

Why can't they leave Stallone alone?

He is such a bad actor, imo.

Don't forget, apparently he also wrote AND directed this latest installment. However the trailer was rather impressive I must say.

Stallone is the reason Rambo 4 got made. He was very enthusiastic about the whole project from pre- to post- production.

I freakin' love Rambo movies. Stallone isn't a great actor but what good action movie stars are good actors. Schwarzenegger was a hysterically bad actor but his movies were awesome. I can't wait for this.

The trailer did look cool, and Rocky Balboa wasn't bad.

how can you say that. if he was a good actor, rambo and rocky would have probably come across wrong. i think by looking somewhat slow and dumb, he's the perfect fit for rocky and rambo.

I have First Blood on Blu-ray. I've never heard anything about 2 or 3 being available in HD. How is the PQ/AQ on 2 and 3?

Are you sure? It's Studio Canal in Europe and Universal in Australia. It seems to be a bit of a tart in regards to ownership

Sure? Don't be:

Quote:
The assets of Carolco were later sold off to other companies, most already sold during Carolco's existence. Today, the ancillary rights to a majority of Carolco's library are held by French production company StudioCanal, while CBS Paramount Television holds the television rights (inherited from Spelling Entertainment's Worldvision Enterprises).

Lions Gate continues to hold the US/Canadian home video rights (via a new output deal with StudioCanal), while the international home video rights are held by a different company for each country. For example, the UK rights are with Momentum Pictures (a subsidiary of Alliance Atlantis) and the Australian rights rest with Universal Studios. Also, Lions Gate spun off its Canadian distribution arm as Maple Pictures in 2005, hence the Canadian video rights rest with Maple.

The only Carolco films not included in the deal are Cliffhanger, Aces: Iron Eagle III, Last of the Dogmen, and Showgirls; the rights to these have been retained by their original theatrical distributors (TriStar Pictures, New Line Cinema, Savoy Pictures/HBO, and United Artists, respectively). However, Lions Gate does own some anciliary rights to the original Stargate, and full rights to Wagons East.
The 3 Rambo movies were made by Carolco

Again - Lionsgate ONLY has theaterical rights - not home video rights
