Excellent GLOW! You just killed PS3 sales until 10/28!

No one is going to buy a $499 PS3 when they can wait less than 30 days and get a $399 one with SPM 3 included.

Oh . . . . look for a ton of SPM 3's on E-bay killing the sale of that title as 80% of PS3 owners don't have an HDTV.

The Blu-ray Disc Association (BDA) has announced that it has renewed its popular "Five Free Discs" promotion through at least the holidays, and they have also refreshed the list of titles.

The offer is still the same and any buyer of a qualifying Blu-ray player or the PlayStation 3 will be eligible to receive the movies via mail.

According to HDDigest, the new 18 titles offered will be'Pirates of the Caribbean: Curse of the Black Pearl,' 'Wild Hogs,' 'American Psycho,' 'Chain Reaction,' 'The Devil's Rejects,' 'Flight of the Phoenix,' 'Full Metal Jacket,' 'Hart's War,' 'The Last Waltz,' 'The Omen,' 'The Patriot,' 'The Prestige,' 'Species,' 'Stir of Echoes,' 'Superman: The Movie,' 'S.W.A.T.,' 'Swordfish' and 'Ultraviolet.'

I've read this will be the poor mans version of the PS3. NO HDMI ports, NO Slots, NO WiFi, No Backward compatibility.

Is this really a step foward for Sony??

I don't think it will be as bad a deal as some of you guys are making it out to be. This will definately help out Blu-ray, if they offer a PS3 with Spiderman 3 (the movie) bundled with it. Nice find GLOW.

Question remains on how much help it gives Blu-ray, but it definately will help out some. BTW, I'm not interested in buying a PS3, even if for only $400...

no it doesnt, which is upsetting but ultimetely not really a big deal

and it does not come with all the memory card (SD and what not) slots either

it is pretty much a stripped down PS3 compared to the higher end 60/80GB models
