Thumbs up Michael Bay Now Says He Likes HD DVD!!

I knew all he had to do was see HD DVD in action and he'd be won over.

Last night at dinner I was having dinner with three blu-ray owners, they were pissed about no Transformers Blu-ray and I drank the kool aid hook line and sinker. So at 1:30 in the morning I posted - nothing good ever comes out of early am posts mind you - I over reacted. I heard where Paramount is coming from and the future of HD and players that will be close to the $200 mark which is the magic number. I like what I heard.

As a director, I'm all about people seeing films in the best quality possible, and I saw and heard firsthand people upset about a corporate decision.

So today I saw 300 on HD, it rocks!

So I think I might be back on to do Transformers 2!

Michael Bay

300 will do that to you.

Welcome aboard, Michael!

Maybe he can invite Spielberg over to watch the movie?

LMAO! At first I thought this was a joke post... but nope. This is actually Michael Bay speaking. Looks like Paramount's and Toshiba's thugs gave him a late-night visit.

Oooooh look at that, another mention of those $200 HD DVD players. "I like what I heard" so now he also agrees that Paramount are making the right decision shunning Blu RAy completely and throwing their full weight behind HD DVD...

The plot really does thicken... what is up HD DVDs sleeve?

I don't believe Paramount or Toshiba had anything to do it. He has (I'm pretty sure) made successful movies with other studios, so it's not like he needed Paramount.

It was probably a case of just the first reaction.

Could be nothing, could be an Ace. This news is surprising though.

Are you sure?

Brad Grey - head of Paramount calls Michael Bay-bee;

" Hi Mike it's Brad . . listen I just read a statement by you that you are questioning our decision to back HD DVD and that you aren't going to do Transformers 2 for us"

"Yea Brad I am pissed at this news."

"OK Mike . . .we understand . . . just got a call from Bryan Singer and because you already said no to Transformers 2 . . well he's very interested in picking up where you left off . . .had a bunch of good ideas too."

" WAIT! . . . .I wasn't serious! . . Brad it's just the Steven Speilberg wannabe inside me taking control. I am truly sorry about this. I will take care of it immediately.

" Thanks Mike . . I knew we could count and you. And please make sure to say something nice about HD DVD for all the people who are going to see your movie in HD this Xmas."

"Brad . . . consider it done!"

And now we have a retraction.
