I just got banned today too. I was actually having some interesting discussions too. I guess you just can't speak the truth. I was banned for trolling, but I was hardly trolling.

Problem I see with people there - They think they represent the general public. Fact is, early adopters never do. None of us here represent the general public - certainly not when it comes to High Def.

Too bad, I was enjoying some of the chit chat. It's much better here though, so no loss for me.

I was having a conversation about the Combo's. People there seem to think that noone will ever buy DVD's after they get a blu-ray player. One person even wanted to put up a poll. It doesn't take much pro-HD DVD sentiment to get banned on Blu-ray dot com. The mods do a thorough job in keeping that site very, very Blu. They have an agenda there, and those with opposing viewpoints are shown the door.

I did see you posting over there, and although I'm sorry you got banned (that always sucks), I'm glad that you haven't gone to the dark side yet (in your heart)

I'm going to sign up at that forum and just post once declaring the banners a bunch of wussies and too afraid to have a debate.

Then I'm going to drive by their site and graffiti the same message on their storefront windows. Wait a minute...what's their address?

I agree being banned for that is just silly. I don't even think Sony believes Blu-ray will replace DVD or even achieve half of the market DVD enjoys. Of course Sony isn't going to admit that, but it appears obvious to me. Why you would be banned for stating those opinions defies explanation. There is a history of HD DVD fans being banned there.

I browsed through many of my posts and all were responses or in regards to what others were saying. Many were just in response to someone dismissing HD DVD or something like that and I ask, why? and gave some more input on it. I actually got some good responses.

Only posts I think I ever made on there that were jabs were in regards to the Blu-ray Wii article. The responses of some people were just plain funny.

Its really too bad, because it is a good place to discuss blu-ray only info or how things relate to it (or so I thought). Guess any blu-ray talk for me will ust have to stay here.

I think some people there may just be on a power trip.

Geez Louise I've never seen a sight so hellbent on silencing any contrarian thought.

I got banned the first time for arguing about whether or not Apple truly supported HD DVD. Keep in mind at this point I'm working for a Apple Authorized online retailer and had full access to the Apple Sales Web where Apple engineers openly stated they happily support both formats although Blu-ray tools aren't available. Someone how that got turned into this contortion of facts that was frankly amazing and bingo a week or so later I'm banned.

I came back after the ban and I made sure to mind my tongue but what happens is if some posters know you're HD DVD minded they attack you and create a stir because they know that eventually it'll lead to your banning.

The problem is many people don't know this and thus they almost feel like Blu-ray.com is an official site. Look at this

So this guy basically parrots what Josh at BR.com "presumes" is the issue for Paramount. There's no Paramount quote but just a guess from a guy on a site that bans dissenting views. Bad information travels fast.
