The week ended January 20th is show in this issue of Home Media magazine and was Blu-ray 83%. That was a 2% improvement by HD DVD, since the week ended January 13th showed HD DVD had 15% of the market. I know this strong showing will have a lot of HD DVD supporters bragging, but I thought I would go ahead and post it here for all to see.

Thanks for the info. You would have thought HD DVD would have lost even more after the WB announcement. Not gone up.

Ya, a lot like the upcoming football game should look. If New England outscores New York 10-0 the first quarter and only 10-2 the second quarter, the New York fans can brag about the second quarter.

I like it, a trend upwards for HD DVD. A 2% increase is better than a kick in the pants.

I don't know Chris, if New York didn't show up for the game (like HD DVD for the market the last 2 weeks) and still they scored 2 points in the second quarter, I think the New York fans would brag quite a bit!!!

The difference is that for all we know, blu-ray sales stayed the same and HD DVD sales grew by 2%. Its also possible that Blu-ray sales simply dropped and that caused the 2% increase.

Point is - it doesn't really tell us much and any improvement is decent considering nothing changed for HD DVD between the two weeks - same awful release schedule and no great deals on titles.
