In fact, this is probably the worst week HD DVD will have to ever face now I think.

I think blu-ray is going to be much higher this week. BOGO was a great deal. It got me to buy 10 titles. Spent about $80 on all 10 too.

While the numbers may favor blu-ray, the dollars spent likely might favor HD DVD.

Die Hard 4 hits next week while POTC 3 hits 2 weeks later.

Die Hard 4 didn't do much over here. Though obv it could be a lot bigger in the states. We still not got the numbers?

This week won't include Shrek - it's the Ratatouille / Cars week.

Numbers not out yet, but 'rumor' has it 65:35 BD(from David Vaughn of HTS....how he would know before everyone else is beyond me). If true, that would be well below expectations for Blu-ray.

That would be pretty disappointing considering the 2 heavy hitters such as Cars and Ratapooey going against near nothing on the HD side.

Indeed, if thats true, I'd consider a bigger failure on Blu-rays part than they considered Transformers "only" getting 49% for HD DVD.

Edit: 65:35 ratio confirmed.

David Vaughn at AVS is saying this week's number is 65/35. If this is so - that is GREAT for HD DVD.

David is an "insider" at AVS

Not a good showing for blu-ray. They really should easily beat HD DVD week after week when you consider the large install base of blu-ray capable players.
