Happy Feet picture is stunning

Just watched Happy Feet last night, the PQ and Audio was amazing. Story line is a bit interesting, dont know if all the young ones will understand, but they should really enjoy the singing and dancing. This is one of the movies I will use to show off the whole Home Theater experience to folks. The rear speakers had alot of content coming out of them. Really showed off the whole 5.1.

I couldn't agree more!

There were scenes in HF that literally put a smile on my face. It's absolutely gorgeous.

My wife even commented on the PQ towards the end of the movie when they run into those elephant looking things, you can see the scales and wrinkles in their trunks, the detail is amazing.

Since I only have 6 HD DVD's HF will definitely be my go to movie if I want to show what HD looks like.

I caught it playing at Circut City and it may be the best HD disc I ever heard. Best looking atheist, greenpeace, anti-zoo, far left ad I have ever seen.

You know Jimmy, I get it you aren't going to be adding this movie to your collection any time soon.

What I don't understand where you get your dislike for this movie from?

I know some conservative family groups complained about it when it was released but, I don't get it.

Is it the Eco-friendly, it's okay to be different and how some people hold onto old prejudices long past their reason for existing messages in the movie?

I'm probably as religious as anyone but, I just don't get the uproar for an animated movie repeating the same feel good about yourself mesage they've had since the first one "Snow White".

Maybe I'm too open minded and easy going to get upset over a full length cartoon movie's friendly love yourself message.

Please explain where I'm missing the reason for the dislike of this funny well done movie.

The audio on the HD DVD was also outstanding with the TrueHD track. Since it is an animated musical, anybody wanting the best experience should get it on HD DVD since the Blu-ray only has a regular DD audio track.

I can't play Dolby TrueHD with my Blu-ray player and didn't notice it wasn't included. The Blu-ray releases need to start including the lossless codecs and capacity allows for multiple lossless soundtracks, maybe different languages should be offered. I don't know why so many releases include no lossless audio soundtrack with Blu-ray. I won't benefit but the format needs to start realizing its potential.

Well I'm happy to know I'm not the only that was literally blown away by the detail and overall PQ of this movie, after all HF was the first HD DVD I had ever seen.

Do you guys think it was something they 'did' to make this look so great, or was it partly due to it being animation? I know all the animation I see, SD DVD's as well as SD braodcast, all look better than regular content.

The PQ of Happy Feet is exceptionaly good even on DVD played on HDA2 (up converting). i have decided not to buy Kids movies on HD DVD or BR since kids can not play them on their portable DVD player, after buying Monster House on DVD and BR both the PQ is still very good by up converting the the regular DVD.

Yes, I noticed that on Toy Story too. The upconverted version is still awesome. I never knew Mr. Potato Head has that texture to him, until I watched it on my HDA2.

The director of the movie George Miller admitted he altered the original storyline to add an environmental message, “You can’t tell a story about Antarctica and the penguins without giving that (environmental) dimension.” Here is a big revelation. YES YOU CAN. This is quite an odd belief that penguians are some save the world symbol when penguians are not an endangered species at all. Happy Feet accuratly showed vast numbers of penguins which is not a sign of a creature on the brink of extinction.

Reality the U.N gives facist, and communist dictators on an equal level with the free world. The result is the organization is commited to hurting the United States. They usually comdemn the latest genocide or dictator with nukes with some sanctions and an angry letter. Which do absolutly nothing to stop more terrorists with bombs. Happy Feet having this corrupt Star Wars bar scene saving the day in the end is a very clever attempt to convince kids this organization is good when in reality U.N is not to be trusted.

4. Lovelace is a porn reference in a kids movie. Didn't know that now ya do.

While I can agree with 2-4....cmon Jimmy your basically a poster child for the religious intolerant. Youve been doing it for months around here and in this very case you show that your religious beliefs can cause the spouting of complaints.....when talking about a MOVIE! Aethiest....yet another of your "Black&White" references, the same way you will find non-believers spouting your so called religion bashing....you'll find a "godbag" bringing this crap up in a movie review.
