South Park in HD!?

On XBl today I notice it says an episode of South Park will be available in HD on March 6 I believe....the episode is currently available in SD...so my question is,seeing as though Ive never seen SP in HD on broadcast,is this some kinda upconverted deal? I mean,its animated so I guess thats where my confusion is coming here..any ideas.

Thats pretty cool I will definitely hop on tomorrow and give it a download. I don't know how much can be upconverted on a 2d cartoon though. Maybe make the colors brighter?

yea thast what Im wondering...although i will say IDK if you guys have caught the new Simpsons trailer in HD and I will sya they SMOKE an SD version of the show....I hope it gets alot of DL's,maybe they will start doing them all Im pretty sure its the "Good Times with Weapons" episode...one of my favorites

The HD South Park episode is the anime one where Butters gets a shuriken in the eye. I think it'll benefit from HD.

I can't believe that South Park has lasted as long as they have! I guess i'll make sure to download this as soon as it's available. Jimmy is a pretty big South Park fan, so maybe he'll get his X360 soon as well to download this free HD episode!

I WUV HD

South Park is all CG (has been since the second or third season.) It would take little effort to render it in 720p. It looks rough (because it's designed to match the original construction paper animation look,) but its actually made on very sophisticated equipment. This helps them churn out episodes in a short amount of time, allowing them to do topical humor.

Yea thast kinda what i was thinking right? I mean I would have to assume it will look "crisper" for lack of a better term right? I mean the Simpsons trailer in HD looks sick yet Simpson SD broadcast I almost hate watching the show,even the new ones as they are in SD. But yea,either way Im pretty psyched... I remember sitting in front of the tv one night getting ready to watch some show my brother heard about on the radio and said it might be be funny...it was the first night it was on and after the show we just looked at each other and couldnt believe some of the things we just heard come outta the mouth of cartoon charecters...I read they have signed on for atleast 2 more seasons too.

Definately, as that is the funniest approach to creating a cartoon character that is as politically in-correct as humanly possible. All of that stuff Cartman utters wouldn't even be half as funny if it was any other cartoon character saying it. Kenny is also one of my favorites, as he seems to get turned on and aroused by topics that are way too mature for anyone their age to understand. I'm just sad that Isaac Hayes left after all these years, because he was definately one of my favorite south park characters. I just can't understand after everything he's said in each of the cartoons, he would finally get offended by an anti-scientology episode.
