- you talking about the BD players that are either Profile 1.0 or have NO Ethernet Port?

Going out boys! I do have a life. I'm not buying any Blu Ray's today. I'll wait until next week, so we can demoralize you guys, even more. We're looking for a 3 - 1 ratio, on the week that you shoot your last bullit, with the latest Bourne movie. Hopefully, the BDA will have a BOGO and we can have a beatdown party at the expense of Universal's last great hope. Don't you guys have some writing to proof, for the next excuse for what happened to DUD next week and the reason that it's still viable? I still have five Blu Ray's sitting here that I have not watched yet. Which one tonight...humm. Donnie Brasco? Troy? The Patriot? A Few Good Men? The Manchurian Candidate? Oh, that's a Paramount...Oh we're not supposed to see those on Blu....Oh well, it's there for the watching....beat the drum boys, the sheepskin is getting worn!

Good lord, it isn't the IQs of the posters that are in decline, it's mine as I continue to read this worthless garbage. It's as bad as when I listen to my friend's 14-year-old nephew boastfully yammering on and on about god knows what.

I'm hoping I win the lottery too and I have more chance of that, without even buying a ticket, than you do of a 3:1 ratio when HD DVD has the stronger release schedule, considering Blu-ray can't even manage it with 5 day and dates inc a 100,000+ week 1 seller and nothing on HD DVD of note.

Ok Prince - have a great day. Guess you have to go to work. We understand. Tote that barge . . lift that bale. Got to make money to afford all those BD movies.

If you guys could have seen the future, back in january 2007, calling this thread "Paramount taking Toshiba's bribe will help 2007" would have been more realistic in terms of helping hd-dvd"

So my advice for 2008 is try to bribe more major studios instead of promising 100 titles LOL
After Warner goes HD DVD exclusive and Disney becomes neutral, what will be your excuse then?

You really don't get it, do you?

Both formats are selling poorly. It doesn't matter if Blu-Ray outsells HD DVD 1.5-to-1 or 2-to-1 or even 3-to-1 for a given week or month.

The studios simply aren't looking at who is selling more discs when the numbers being sold are paltry and no one is making money.

They are looking at future potential and that is strictly related to hardware sales and attach rates.

The studios also know when the disc sales numbers are being distorted by special promotions and giveaways--they know how much money they are making/losing, regardless of what the Nielsen sales numbers are.

The Nielsen sales numbers are simply progaganda for feeding the press and the public. With more and more press being favorable to HD DVD (and you can search all the links in this forum to legitimate articles that support that) and with the public obviously demonstrating a strong desire to buy HD DVD players at good prices, it's just downright silly to think Blu-Ray's disc sales advantage means anything, at least until the studios selling them are making huge profits on Hi-Def disc sales so that the difference is actually meaningful.
