Nobody is making any money off the HD formats. Not Disney, not Samsung, not Sony, no Paramount, not Universal, not Fox, not Lionsgate, not Weinstein, not Magnolia, not Toshiba, not Pioneer, not Phillips, not LG, not Microsoft. NOBODY.

As far as losers go in this war, everybody is a loser. Nothing short of mass inception will create a winner.

So please, next time you want to go ranting around exclaiming how horrible one thing over another is, know your shit first. We don't need trolls here, and we don't want them. I'm all for spirited knowledgable debates though. . .
When the Devil Ice Skates to work - that is the day we will have a true debate with a BD owner - as opposed to the deluge of Fanbois and Trolls that seems to have infected HDF recently.

HD DVD is dead (again...)

Remember the good old days, when people would start dozens of stupid useless threads instead of necrobumping old dead ones?

100,000+ units a week in possible Blu-ray Disc sales LOST by Paramount and Universal.

Can anyone say, "Morons"!!!

How dumb is the guy from Paramount who inked that deal for HD-DVD exclusivity with Microsoft? Or how about the guy from Universal that decided to go HD-DVD.

Do they still have their jobs?

Universal & Paramount are in the same sinking ship.

The "Universal Blunder" has a nice ring to it.

Merry Christmas Paramount & Universal. No bonuses this year!

Let's see if you are dumb enough to miss the 2008 Holiday season as well.

Yep - Let's revive all the old threads where Fox and SOny made presentations claiming they'd be selling 4 to 1 over HD DVD by now and that HD DVD was dead

Now HD DVD has 750,000 dedicated players (not games machines) in the wild, and continues to grow stronger yet.

Even Sony's CEO admitted that it's a stalemate 2 weeks ago - both formats are going to survive.

Which one will conquer the mass market is the real question...

Hint: the cheaper one with better players and features!

@thread title
It seems (in perspective) that Universal's promise to deliver 100 titles for 2007 did not do them much good as hd-dvd is the official 2007 loser's format.

If you guys could have seen the future, back in january 2007, calling this thread "Paramount taking Toshiba's bribe will help 2007" would have been more realistic in terms of helping hd-dvd"

So my advice for 2008 is try to bribe more major studios instead of promising 100 titles LOL

They may take that advice!

Toshiba has lots more money to burn than Sony, who has lost Billions trying to get people to buy PS3's, then trying to get some of those to buy Blu-Ray discs.

OMG, now my BD ratio to his is (5.4:1). Talking his goofy child gibberish, as usual. quexos, what is your point? HD DVD is still not going away, it is going to continue grow at a faster rate than BD. That is not FUD, but fact. Price will win. The PS3 cannot carry BD forever, period.

Pretty bad, when they burn your home(AVS). Now we're going to pursue the enemy(HD DUD Spinmeisters) surround them, and destroy them. It's like the German 6th division at Stalingrad, surrounded, cut off and their number slowly dwindling, at each passing day of the war.

Oh, you mean the ones with one year old firmaware, that are under the Christmas tree, waiting to be unwrapped? The one's that won't play Christmas morning, because the firmware is not up to date and J6P will be sorely disappointed because it won't play? Then he puts it back in the box, takes it back to Wally World, slams it on the counter, demands his money back, goes to electronics and buys the Blu Ray player instead? The one with the current update, that plays Disney, FOX, Sony, Warner and some Paramount? Are those the treasures that your talking about?
