Question Asking TO Learn. HD DVD - Blue Ray

I Don't Know Sh** about either outside of what I Saw at Best Buy ON a 1080P Sony Tv WITH Blue Ray Hooked up to it. It Was GORGEOUS and Crystal Clear!!!!! WOW!!!!! I Have not seen HD DVD format yet, which brings me to my question..

Is this battle still a VHS - Beta - type battle?? Will there be One HD winner eventually?? Can someone explain it to me, lol as I don't know much at all on this new tech, I Learn fast and like most eventually do, I - we become familiar as IT becomes more mainstream in households..

Now I Have recently bought a 40" Samsung 4051 LCD Tv for my BIG Bedroom where I like to watch tv - it's not 1080P, Now I WILL wait to see where this battle goes, but out of the 2 and for my own curiousity, which might be better for my Tv..

Thank You
ST

Neither one will be any better or worse for your TV. HD DVD will be better for your wallet though.

To keep it short and simple, they are pretty close to equal.
Nowadays both have equally impressive PQ..
HD DVD is MUCH cheaper to get into, and Blu Ray has more studio support.

Depends on your budget, the ideal way to go would be to own both , but of course that can get a bit pricey.
