Default The OFFICIAL post PICS of your HiDef movie collection thread

Both HD-DVD and Blu-ray welcome. I'm new to the forum so I don't know how to post pics yet, but I will post mine shortly after I learn how.

I'll post a pick soon, although my collection is not as impressive as you guys. I gotta wait for my thumb to swell down before I can work the camera without risking dropping it.

P.S. You have too much spare cash :P

Yeah, if you notice, Reign of Fire is the same way. It looks like all of the initial Japanese releases used standard DVD cases. It kinda sucks, since they don't match with the rest...

I'll post mine soon, but I've never posted a pic before. What format and what resolution do I save it before posting?

Save it as a JPEG and upload using Imagevenue.com. I think you have to keep the pic ~1.5mb or so, but I could be mistaken.

The higher the resolution, the easier it is for us to zoom in and read the titles.

Cool, thanks. I can read your impressive collection just fine.

BTW, how does that Sopranos look compared to the SDs?

It looks great. If you've watched the shows on HBO HD, it'll basically look like that, minus the occasional artifact/dropout that comes with using cable HD.

The Sopranos (as well as other shows on HBO like Deadwood, Rome, Carnivale, etc.) was shot on film, so there should always be a noticeable difference over the SD version. As I've been watching all of those shows listed above in HD on HBO, I can tell you that they all have stellar PQ. The only reason I've held off on buying the season collections on SD DVD is I'm waiting for the HD DVD versions to show up. Deadwood and Rome look great in HD and I could never go back to SD after seeing them in HD...

Sorry for another noob question, but I have my HD DVD picture ready to post, but then it asks me for a URL. The file is on my HD right now and I don't have a web page of my own to save it to. What's my next move? Thanks.

Upload it using imagevenue.com. It will generate the forum code for you when it's done. Just copy and past into the post and you're good to go.

Mostly Amazon. A chunk are from Best Buy and I've ordered a few imports from YesAsia and xploitedcinema. Because I'm an Amazon Prime member and I get the 10% off deal, I usually just use Amazon and call it good. If my local Best Buy was better at stocking new releases on release day (and stopped charging MSRP) I would use them more often, just for instant gratification.
