Thanks. I got Miami Vice for christmas, so I haven't watched it in its entirety yet, but the video quality is very nice!

I got the Harry Potter movie from XploitedCinema.com, as mentioned above... The quality is just amazing, I'll definitely be picking up the first three when they're released.

LOL I don't know never thought of it but where I live all walls are concrete so they should hold pretty nicely. Correct me if I'm wrong but don't a lot of houses in the US use some type of wood which would be much weaker. I remember my apartment in college on your side of the world had almost paper walls, I'd literally carry conversations out with my roomaate through them without any decibile loss AKA I could hear just as loud.

Those are the exact reasons why I don't want to wall mount anything. I'm pretty sure the walls would hold up okay, but would be scared to do it long term. I also don't like putting holes into walls as well.

I noticed some of the movies have little round stickers on the spine. Is that part of some system you have in place?

Yeah, that's my numbering system for the movies anyway. It's not necessary on the TV shows because you want to have those in order, but I like the sequential ordering (as opposed to alphabetical and in genre too, if desired) because I know what's missing (if there's a space where a movie should be) and each movie has a fixed spot that won't change over time. But sometimes I would like to separate them into genre and alphabetize...

I just hit 100 (combination of HD DVD and BD titles.) What do I win?

Congrats, but that was an HD DVD STFU contest, so not only do the BD titles not count, they also subtract from your HD DVD collection.
(i.e. your NET STFU HD DVD support). But you ARE the first to 100 in both formats.

But seriously, bro, I'm happy for you and I hope you really enjoy the bliss of ownership neutrality. I'm in an obvious purchase lull and I probably won't hit 100 until May.

I was just going through your movies and you got a lot of good stuff there. We have about 40-45 movies in common. I only saw 3 BD movies, did I miss any?

There's actually ten. I have Click, Crank, Eight Below, Haunted Mansion, Memento, Stargate, The Terminator, Terminator 2, Underworld: Evolution, and X-Men: The Last Stand.

I missed 7 of out 10? Well, that just shows how blind I am to Blu-ray.

So how do the BD titles look, as a whole?

Geez, Bruce, how do you find anything?

I mean, if you think to yourself "I'm in a Grapes of Wrath mood" you just know right where its number is?

Now me, I have to alphabetize. If I had a huge collection (I'm around 180-190 SD-DVD, no HD) I might break it into genres although some of those categories would be pretty empty (musicals--none, action--a dozen, silent--buttloads!) Your system boggles me. Are they numbered by date of purchase or what?

And how in the heck does a collection that size not have loads of Criterion? Come on, man!

I use the numbering system, as in a library, so if I don't know offhand where it is, I'll just look it up in my database. The good thing about a collection this size is that I can do an actor search and go off on a binge on a actor (more likely an actress in my case) as I usually have several good movies from that actor/actress to watch.

I have a few criterion moves, but not nearly as many as I would like (and I didn't know that many would be collector's items, either). I thought they were overpriced so I just bought a few (Rebecca is one that comes to mind)
