Just got the A2

I have a quick set up question. My old reciever only supports Optical or analog, and my Hitachi LCD is DVI only. I was able to hook everything up and the picture is fantastic. The question I have if I want to take advantage of the better sound capability can I upgrade my reciever and go HDMI from the A2 to the reciever, HDMI to DVI to the TV. Is this possible, or what would the best set up be. Not a AV type guy, but this machine is great and want to take advantage of all I can...

It's good enough to just use the optical digital or coax digital between your receiver and A2. DVI doesn't have any provisions for carrying audio so an HDMI to DVI connection will be video only.

Borromini is right you will notice a difference from your old DD from DVD. Anyway I'm typing just to say love the name and the movie.

I think you missed what he was asking. He asked about going from the A2 to the receiver via HDMI, and then from the receiver to the TV HDMI-DVI. He would be able to take advantage of the HD audio tracks this way. Optical or coax would not carry the full HD track to the receiver. It wouldn't matter if he's going HDMI-DVI from the receiver to the TV, because the receiver's outputting the sound, not the TV. Frank, this would work great just as you say. You would notice a big improvement doing it that way over just optical or coax.
