Looks like Amazon has decided to go back to one of their old scams and making it look like a deal, when they just recoup the difference on the price by increasing the prices of the titles. There are enough of the uninitiated that will buy into this. I just ignore it and refuse to buy from them, for a while.

I agree that those $26.99 price tags are ridiculous.

Thanks for the link Goofnut. Like Prince says, regular prices look a little higher on average than they used to, so I'll be buying very sparingly until next holiday season or until we get the "combo plan" once again (good sales + great regular prices).

You're welcome, but this is probably the worst 3 for 2 sale I have ever seen Amazon do for BD.

I don't even bother looking at these sales until people respond that there are new titles instead of the same old re-hashed titles and they are not playing games with the prices that they always seem to do. That is part of why I didn't buy hardly any movies in 2009.

Same here. 2009 was definitely a low buy year for me, but mainly because I overbought the 3 years prior.

No matter, I still has lots of stuff on my shelf I haven't watched yet, and now I'm starting to get into the Call of Duty games on the 360 (currently working on COD3) and that eats up a lot of my time because I die a lot.

You could probably watch a movie each day for close to a year just with the titles you bought that you have not watched yet on disc.

I think I have at least 15+ titles like that so I suspect with your library it would be so much higher. If I had all the titles you had, I would only buy what I must see immediately and start working off the already bought titles. Then when you get to the lower profile titles you can wait until they are selling for half the price as a catalog title.

COD is fun huh? That series is about all I play on the PS3. It is amazing how much better you get with time though so just keep playing as "fun" is the first reason to play, and doing better (dying less) is only a bonus.

Check out the UK site. There are many films for under $10 on there. Even with shipping a lot of them come out cheaper than US versions of the same film.

Yeah, I have quite a backlog on my shelf. Most of it is HD DVD, so I'm not really in any hurry to catch up, because they are the last in that format and it's nice to save some bottles of fine Red wine for a rainy day.

Yeah COD is really a lot of fun, especially after you get the hang of shooting (especially the sniper). It's also fun to see how fast you improve (I guess the improvement curve drops fast after a while, but I'll enjoy it while it lasts). Besides, how could one not like picking off all those Krauts?

I haven't played online yet, I don't wanna look like a compleat n00b so I'm gonna practice by beating the missions in the series first.

yeah blurays need to come down in price. its ridiculous. until they do im done buying em. I just added the $4 addon on netflix to get blurays. ill do that for awhile. right now is a great time to buy dvds tho lol their $5 everywhere I go. if only I didnt have a brand new 58" plasma that I want to watch hd content on id be cleaning up with these.

The best thing to do is watch for $10 BDs at Wal-Mart and to check eBay for cheap titles.

This is why I get tired of people saying that don't want to get into BD because they don't want to pay $30 per movie. You don't have to pay $30 if you know where to look.
