Lee, we found you a brand name player that has everything you want for less than $200.

The only players in the current market that can match these features at this price point are the lg 390 and samsung 3600. However, I doubt they will get as low, since both have wireless functionality.

Plus some people trust the panasonic name brand over lg and samsung.

The SD DVD upscaling with the Panasonic (UniPhier processor) is much better than anything LG and Samsung have to offer. That is a very important consideration if someone has a large library of DVD's.

And it does 24p playback of DVDs. Another bonus for people that have a lot of DVDs, and something lg/samsung don't offer.

The LG BD390 easily beats the Panasonic DMP-BD80 for features and performance based on everything I have read. This generation of Panasonic players has the dreaded stuttering problem although the DMP-BD80 gets fewer complaints than the DMP-BD60. I don't know if in reality the DMP-BD80 suffers less from that random problem or is much less popular. The LG BD390 has streaming features, Netflix, Vudu, YouTube and others and as you mention wireless built-in and I agree there is no way the BD390 gets down to this price. After seeing a stack of 13 returned Samsung BD-P3600's sitting at my local Best Buy and my experience with the Samsung BD-P1200, I would say don't touch it or at least don't buy it.

I agree the 390 has more features...but it also runs about $100 more. This is a great deal for someone that just wants a fully functional name brand player with 7.1 analog outs and profile 2.0.

If they required wireless and netflix, I would go with the 390. But if they are hardwiring and only care about bluray playback, this is a steal for $155.

That would be 24fps playback of Blu-ray not DVD.

This is a fantastic deal IMO. I wish I needed another BD player but I already have 3 and would have to get rid of one to buy this as I do not want dust collectors since i already have plenty for SD DVD.

I believe this deal has been dead for over an hour, probably sold out. It also should have qualified for the Bing.com Cashback 4%.

It would have been even better with the 4% bing rebate.

Lee is curiously quiet regarding this player and at this price point. I thought that this is what he was waiting for.
