Default How to protect new Kuro PRO-151FD.

Not sure, should i buy one of these powercenters or just a good surge protecter. Would like to be able to shut my equipment down properly if power goes out.Does the Monster Powercenters allow you to shut down your equipment. I do notice somtimes lights will flicker.

Recommendations welcome.

PRO -151 to be delivered soon.

If you lights do sometimes flicker then i suggest this:

http://www.amazon.com/Cyberpower-CP1.../dp/B000FBK3QK

Don't waste your money on a very overpriced Monster line conditioner since it doesn't have battery backup power to handle voltage drops like you may have. As you can see this DOES and has flitering and surge protection for not only the power connections, but the Ethernet connection AND the coax cable connection to fully protect you from surges on all connections along with true line conditioning.

Hope this helps & welcome to the forum!

EDIT:
FYI The price in that link jumped from $159 to $176. since i posted this link. It will likely drop again at some point though.

Default Thanks PFC5.

Do you use any kind of battery backup. Is it realy necessary. I'm realy just worried about the 151 shutting off improperly. Not sure if it has a fan that needs to run for a while after being turned off or not.
I now this is a issue with projectors or so ive read. I now people say that plasma's run warm.

I do not use a UPS presently for my plasma, because my power is extremely stable according to the readings on my UPS connected to my computer. There is barely any fluctuations at all, and I only lost power once in the 12-14 months, so I have not seen the need for it since I do have a very good surge with 3600 joules of protection.

Based on what you have said, you might seriously consider getting one though since your lights do flicker sometimes. That is a sign that the power going into the house is inconsistent, or an issue with the internal wiring. Either way, a UPS would be wise for you IMO.

Thanks PFC5.

It's not realy a flicker more like a very slight dimming. Also is there anyway to check my power to see how stable it is.

The dimming would indicate power sags either from the utility company, or from the internal wiring in your home. Just seeing the lights dim like that would be strong enough indication to me that you should get a UPS with line condition/leveling for the expensive items like certain home electronics.

There might be something on the market to test this, but I don't know where to start other than Googling it. I do have a 1250VA version of the Cyberpower UPS i linked above and when I look at that I do not see any (other than 1volt change very rarely) dips in my power so I never got one, but I would surely have one on my plasma if I saw what you saw.

Hope this helps!
