Default copying HD to a DVD

I am wondering what is needed to burn a downloaded High Def movie clip from my computer to a DVD so it can be played in my Blu-Ray player?

Is there a specific DVD i need to buy to copy too?

Is there a specific DVD burner/program needed to burn Blu-Ray movies?

Thanks in advance for you help

I've never heard of that. This probably isn't the best forum for technical stuff like that anyway. You'll probably want to check out doom9.org.

Blu ray players can read dvds with mp4 encoded movies(assuming they can all play DVD-Rs)
Thats how HD piracy in China is thriving(BD-9s lol)

Burning HD into normal DVDs.

"Blu-lay" movies and a chinese "Blu-lay" player? (that plays Blu-ray in DVD media (MiniBD, BD5, BD9?...)
China officially released Blu-ray high-definition products CBHD players

You do not need a specific DVD burner. You do need software that can burn an AVCHD disc.

There are multiple programs that can do this. I have Nero with the plug-in that allows burning these discs. A google search should lead to other programs possibly less expensive options.

Good luck.

There is software that came with my Hauppague 1212 that will allow burning a standard DVD with HD files it recorded that will play in Blu-ray players. The files are m2ts with h.264 encode. Maybe if your files were converted to match it would work.

If you want a personal backup of your BD movies in DVD SL, DVD DL or BD-R, the freeware BD Rebuilder is an option.
