HD Writer Query

Hi,

I have copied clips from Panasonic SD9D to HD Writer and edited them. I now want to transfer the edited clips to a DVD so I can give to a friend to play on his DVD player (His player is not Blu-Ray). I do not have sufficient knowledge of HD Writer to be able to do this can anyone help please?

If his player is not a Blu-ray then you will need to downconvert the video to 480i/p. Any DVD authoring software should do it assuming the files aren't some weird format.

I just bought a Panasonic HDC-HS250K HD camcorder. Of course I got the HDWriter with it. I just burned my first DVD with surprisingly no problems. I just clicked on burn DVD in HDWriter and put a Memorex DVD+R in the drive on my computer. I have VISTA as the operating system in that machine. It took about 30 minutes to copy about 1 Gb of data, but the result was better than I expected. It doesn't look quite as nice as playing thru the camcorder directly into the HD TV. But it's not that much different. You will be pleased.

I may have gotten lucky by using the DVD+R. I've read some posts that say the DVD-R doesn't work. I haven't tried that yet. I'll likely look for more DVD+R.
