Hi,
First I'm a newbie and looking for some friendly advise. I'm thinking about purchasing a samsung lcd tv model #Ln40b550 and I'd like to also use the tv as a monitor for my desktop computer (hp nc692aa). My computer has dvi-i and hdmi outputs. The tv has d-sub? My question is what cable(s) would I need to do this, and is it easy to do? Any help on how to do this will be appreciated!! Thank you

the "d-sub" connector is for a typical VGA monitor cable - this is an analog signal, same as sent to a typical computer monitor. For the computer to sync with the TV, you need to have a resolution setting on the computer video card which matches the native resolution of the HDTV (Resolution : 1920 x 1080 from the Samsung site). You may also be able to use an HDMI cable (which would be preferable), but you will just need to try it to make sure there are not any "hand shake" problems between the TV and the computer.
