What is HD?

I'm trying to set up a connection from an old laptop to my HDTV so I can watch movies through Starz Play from Verizon. Don't know if this is the right place to ask so if it's not, hopefully someone can steer me in the right direction.
So far I can hook the 2 together (S-video and mini-plug to RCA audio) and can see and hear the laptop content on the tv, the movie launches fine and I can see the media player frame, but no movie. I'm not a techie and sometimes know enough to be dangerous but this is really bugging me! TIA for any help. |
