Default Problem: TV won't recognize computer after shut-down

Hi,

I have my Toshiba 46RV535-U LCD TV connected to my computer through a DVI port and it works great.. that is until I turn off my TV for any period of time. When I turn the TV back on it will not recognize the computer (always on) and the only remedy I could find right now is to restart Windows XP so the TV can be recognized again on boot-up,

Any help/suggestions is greatly appreciated.

What you need is an inline device called, I believe, a HDMI repeater. It re-sends data to the TV every so often so it will "see" the signal from the computer.

Send a PM to rbinck as he has a link for the device mentioned and can assist you further.

Thanks for the prompt reply

Is there a more 'practical' way instead of buying more hardware? Like a piece of software on the computer so that I can trigger it with a keystroke?

Got HDMI/DVI Connection Problems?

The issue is with your TV not the computer. Some TVs will not relay back the information the computer card requests either at all or not within the timing required by the video card. HDTVs do not necessarily match computer monitor specs. This little box fixes that. It is not going to help with HDCP issues necessarily though, but for your application sounds like what you need.
