Default Help adding some ventilation to my system

I recently converted an antique credenza into an entertainment center but making two of the drawer faces able to slide in on barrister rails, but there isnt much ventilation with them shut.

I was thinking of somehow adding a couple computer fans on the back of the unit to get some flow but my question is how to power them and which ones to get. My receiver, onkyo SR506, doesnt have a switched outlet on the back. So what is the best way to power the fans only when the receiver is on?

Where is a good place to get some of fans?

Maybe just a couple of big fans (120 or 140mm+) and a cheap thermal controller would do ya. Just cut out holes in the back of your stand and mount the fans there and plug them into a thermal controller like this one here: http://www.coolerguys.com/840556086611.html

That one is pretty cheap ($14.00)... it won't turn on with your receiver but as long as it turns on when it warms up inside the case it should be fine I suppose.

I use a cool pad to keep my tx-ds989 from using it's own fan which is very loud. I think they can be powered by usb port. Mine is hooked up to the ac on the receiver, so it is only on when the receivers on.

Get one of those bathroom fans and mount it to the back of the cabinet.
