What is HD?

Hi All,
I have a weird problem that just started occurring. I have tested my devices with the same cable, so to make everything simple. I have a Panasonic HDTV with 1 lonely HDMI port. I tried my cable box and Apple TV and both work fine with the same cable plugged into the HDMI port. The issue is with my LG Blu-Ray and Philips DVD player. Using the same cable my screen constantly shows one second of a frame then goes black. I tried buying a new cable, but received the same results. Can anyone think of what would be causing this issue? Thanks, Brian |

It sounds like a problem with the HDCP handshake--try changing the order in which you turn components on.
If the HDCP handshake isn't established because the display missed the signal from the player and didn't respond appropriately, or the player missed the signal from the display, it will usually blank the screen. |
