I am close to purchasing a HDTV and HD Satellite receiver. Will a Hughes HNS HTLHD receiver and a Sony Tube (KV34HS510) receive and display the 780p signal or will it be converted to 1080i? Both products indicate they receive both these signals but the salespeople say they convert 780p to 1080i. Thank you.

I believe you mean 720P. Right?

It will convert it to 1080i, if that is the native resolution of your TV.
