Default New HD Channels?

Has anyone heard if any of the following networks are coming out with an HD channel:

1. TBS
2. USA
3. SpikeTV
4. OLN

I am eagerly awaiting these! Thanks for any news you may know about!

TBS broadcasts in HD, however, I believe the only thing that they actually show in HD are Braves games. If you're not an ATL fan, the channel is worthless.

Default HGTV & Food Network

I heard that HGTV & Food Network are coming out with HD channels this year. That's great and all but...

1. If these channels are being released, why are the bigger cable networks holding out? USA & SpikeTV need to get on board (TNT did a long time ago!)

2. It's great getting more HD channels, but how long will it take for our carriers to start offering them?

I, for one, have Service Electric Cable in Eastern Pennsylvania. They offer:
HBO / Showtime / Cinemax / NBC / ABC / CBS / WB /UPN / FOX / HDnet / HDnet Movies / TNT / Outdoor Channel / PBS / ESPN / Comcast Sportsnet / Discovery

We are still waiting on:

INHD / INHD2 / ESPN2 / MHD (MtvHD) / UniversalHD...

So even if these channels come out, who's to say WE'LL see them anytime soon?

most places only carry either hdnet or inhd. i dont think i have found a company that carries both in the same area. i have universal here through comcast and believe me you are missing nothing. usa is making a push to be a bigger cable network. like tnt. this is why they overbid for raw. plus they are taking alot of chances on new network shows. at this point it would only benifit them to go full hd. with so little hd station available now they could use hd to bring in new fans for there shows. higher rating mean more $$ for them and better viewing for us. it is a win win situation. hope they realize this because if they wait to long networks are gonna blow past them and they wasted all that money redoing there company image.

Default I agree totally

I agree totally. People view TNT as superior to USA large in part to the technical superiority.

TNT does an outstanding job with the NBA and various movies. Law & Order Look great as well (even when they have to stretch a 4:3 episode)

USA has:

1. WWE RAW
2. Tennis
3. Law & Order SVU & Criminal intent
4. The Annual Dog Show
5. supporting coverage of the Olympics for the NBC family of networks.

Who else but USA (and it's viewers)would benefit more from an HD channel???
