HDTV and Dolby Digital
Will the audio of HDTV be Dolby Digital? If so, then I'll need an HDTV with optical audio out to plugin to my surround sound sytem?

Yes Dolby Digital is mandatory for HDTV(DD 2.0 & DD 5.1)
Whatever you use for HDTV reception will have a digital audio output. |

as i know, i think u can just connect your tv to a 5.1 decoder..aka: surround sound system....
