A few months ago, I posted a thread on my new TV. It is a Sony Bravia KDL42NX700.
At that time I set the TV up to download internet shows, music etc. it worked well for 2 weeks then i lost the ability to receive internet material. I have a wireless router set up for the TV. When I attempt to reconnect to the network I receive the following messages. Wireless Connection: Passed. Local Connection: Failed Internet Connection :Failed The on-screen error message reads 2200 error, contact Sony. According to Sony it is a download speed issue. I need 2.5Mps, which I don't always get, but do get. It's border line sometimes, less than and sometimes greater than 2.5Mps. Now why would I have gotten internet access for 2 weeks and then not get it ever again, even when a speed test shows I am receiving >2.5Mps? once i told sony a speed test was below 2.5, they now use that as the reason for the problem and are passing the problem to my DSL provider, ATT. I am on a 1.5-3.0 mps Dsl package with ATT, and faster speeds are not available where i live. (it reminds me of the old computer problem, the hardware guy blames the software and the software guy blames the hardware when there are computer problems) any help is appreciated. Receiving internet stuff on the TV was interesting and I would love to get it again. thanks jgm

I came across this problem as well. For some reason the router will not assign an IP address to the device. Instead of using the auto, set it up manually. Go into your command prompt (via the start button - accessories) and type in ipconfig/all. This will give you all your network information for the computer you are using (make sure it is on the same network you want to use your TV on). For the IP address, use the same address except for the last number use a higher number (like 20). All the other network info stays the same. The alternate DNS is the same as the DNS. Do not use a proxy server and complete the configuration. Good luck.

first off i'am by know means a i.p. computer guy,but was beating my head on why my sony bravia kdl55ex710 was working fine on the internet than one day would not connect.read multiple post of people having the same problem with no answer, with some research i came across this to fix the problem.
1)go to comand prompt on computer type in:ipconfig/all next write down the ip address in line:ipv4 something like 192.168.1.55 2)next write down default gateway address:some thing like 192.168.1.254 3) go to the t.v's network setup instead of auto detect go to custom/manual settings.in ip address screen type in your ip address from your paper EXCEPT change the last didgets (example .55 to .250 subnet stays the same 255.255.255.0 type in your default gateway address that you saved into the default gateway screen AND the pimary dns screen.save and connect. this will work for both wired and wireless just that each need there own ip address. good luck |

I spent the last day trying to solve this, I could "ping" the TV's IP address but it hung when I tried to get Internet content; what worked was:
On Bravia handset Home Settings Network Refresh Internet Content Wait (a while) until it Authenticates Normal Internet service resumed
