Default Vizio changing tv resolution question

I have 2 vizio tv's and they are hooked up to the same service providers device but one tv says its resolution is 1080i and the other tv's the resolution is 480 i sd.

My question is how can I change the resolution of the 480 i sd to 1080 i???

Thanks

The resolution info displayed by each TV describes the input it is receiving, not how the TV is displaying it. The TVs always display images at the respective TV's native resolution. So the problem would appear to be in your set-up of the service provider's device or in the type of connection you are using.

How do you have the device connected to the TVs? It sounds like you are using either a component-video or HDMI connection on one TV and an s-video or composite-video connection on the other. Neither s-video nor composite-video can pass anything but a 480i signal.

I am using HDMI on both one shows 480i sd and the other shows 1080i
Could this be the way the service provider set up the box???
I have tried to go into settings on their box which is a ADB 3800W and it needs a password which I do not have. Maybe I should contact them to see how to change the box output?

Yes, contact them to reset the Box resolution.
