Default Who orders 50"+ T.V. from an eStore?

Hey, does anyone have any experience ordering from ecost.com or ecomelectronics.com?

I am in Canada with a shipping address in the U.S. and these are the only sites I can find that don't require you to have a U.S. credit card to set up an account.

With paypal I can order my T.V. from either site and pick it up in Point Roberts.

The price seems good but I wonder if it isn't worth the extra $100 (approx) + the sales tax to get a store warranty.

Any first hand experiences with these, or any eStore for that matter?

My Father, who is 81 and doesn't use a computer (Mother does), bought a Sony 52" LCD from Amazon because he didn't trust any of the stores in his town to sell, deliver, and support one.

They delivered it throught their "white glove" delivery service. Given his history with just about anything (if there's a lemon in the bunch, he gets it) he expected to have to send at least one, maybe two back either defective or damaged in shipment.

The delivery man brought it in, unboxed it, plugged it in, and it worked! The only problem with it now (1 year later) is that he wants a bigger one (I warned him that they shrink) but this one won't break.

I don't have any information about the other two for you. I have ordered software from eCost with no problems but never anything like a TV.
