Default Riddle Me This...

When looking to buy a mid-range HDTV ( LCD or Plasma ) which would you save more money on? :

1. Buying an HDTV on Black Friday

OR

2. Wait till March

Basically will you save more money waiting until March to buy a HDTV or will most manufacturers have newer gen HDTV's with a high price tag sticker in March which means you lost out on savings?

I need to know whether to buy now or later when it comes to getting that great deal. Thanks for the input.

No one knows for sure how things will go. If you wait until March you may be able to get a 2009 model at a discount as the new models get introduced about that time. But then you might wonder if the new models are worth the extra money and wait for those to come down in price many months later and the process repeats itself.

Waiting an extra 5+ months means 5+ months without a HDTV, and then you may be looking at the same scenario all over again. Sooner or later you have to get your feet wet, and I will offer the same advice as I gave people in the 90s for wanting for the next generation of computers to buy so they get the latest tech. I always said it is a process without a conclusion and each year there will be the same reasons to wait, but then you go without.

Prices have already come down a lot compared to the prior year and the prices will not likely drop as much next year especially if you live in the USA since the dollar is dropping more and more and that means imports like HDTVs will possibly not drop very much because of this also.
