What is HD?

I have the following home theater setup:
using yamaha avr as the hub for all components: denon cd player >dig coax> yamaha avr sony dvd/vcr combo>dig coax/comp vid> yamaha avr comcast hd cable>hdmi>yamaha avr yamaha avr>hdmi>samsung hdtv everything EXCEPT the dvd/vcr runs fine, any ideas on how to get this operational? thanks. |

Since you are inputting the DVD/VCR with Component to the AVR, I believe you need to connect the component monitor out on the AVR to a component input on your TV. I don't believe your AVR will take a component input and output it via the HDMI.
Or just bypass the AVR and connect component from the DVD/VCR right to the TV, for the video. Then make an audio connection from the DVD/VCR to the AVR for the audio.
