What is HD?

I recently purchased a Samsung 5 series Plasma HDTV and I am very satisfied with it, save for some dreaded bars. Here are some details: I have Comcast, I live in Central Indiana, I have no black bars when watching SDTV on cable, but when I am watching HDTV on cable, I get black bars on the top and bottom of the set. Also, when I switch between cable and air on the same program, the program fills up the screen in air mode, but not cable. I've noticed there is a picture setting called screen fit that seems to be what I want, however, I cannot switch to screen fit mode when I am in cable mode. I'll be honest, I am obsessing over this and my wife is about ready to kill me. She rues the day that we bought this TV! Please help me out! Thanks in advance.

You need to change the zoom setting in the cable box with your cable remote. That should do it for you.
