Default Need Some Help

I have a Samsung 52 b630 lcd tv. I also have dish network with HD and DVR. It is hooked up in the component input. I would like to know why my tv is only displying in 60hz instead of 120hz which the tv has. If I get a hdmi cord would that help? If also which hdmi cord to get.

thanks

First, no a HDMI cable wouldn't help, component is just as high a quality for your Dish box.

Your TV is displaying the input signal which is 60Hz.

Your TV has a refresh rate of 120Hz which is always on, it cannot be changed.

Hope this helps.

So let me see if I understand. The 60hz is comin from the the dish box. So if the was signal 120hz from the dish box it would say 120hz. So no way to change? What do the 120hz refreah rate mean? I have a little motion blur when watchin football is there anyway that I can correct?

Correct as there are no 120 Hz signals to be sent. It (120Hz) is only for a LCD TV's refresh rate. What do the 120hz refreah rate mean? See other posts on this forum about this. I have a little motion blur when watchin football is there anyway that I can correct? Probably not.
Hope this helps.

Here are some links about refresh rates - http://www.pcworld.com/article/12939...esh_rates.html

You are not the first to think you should be getting a 120Hz signal, all things HD including Blu-ray pass a signal of 60Hz. Its the HDTV that takes the 60Hz signal and processs it to 120Hz. I have a 240Hz HDTV LCD, my BD player and Dish box send a 60Hz signal.
