ABC Poor PQ

What's up with ABC (network) HD signal? It looks like crap pretty much all the time now since they turned on their Live Well programming on the sub channel. Seems to be a pretty much universal problem with ABC in all their markets. Houston is bad, Dallas is bad, New Orleans is bad, Indianapolis, Denver, Chicago, etc. Is this the "new ABC"? If so they are losing me as a viewer. I didn't buy all new HD sets over the last 5 years to watch a bit-robbed soft focus picture

I have not seen any change in PQ for ABC here in the Chicago market. It is still fantastic via Comcast and OTA.

Are they running the LIVE WELL channel on one of their sub-channels? If they are and the main channel is crystal clear I'd like to know how they're doing it. My sister in Darien (NW Suburb) complains about it (Comcast) and it's horrible here in Texas. Got bad when they went to HD on the LiveWell channel

Yes they are running Living Well here.

The reason is because ABC is broadcasting at 720P and not 1080i.

720p vs 1080i is not a reason for poor PQ. I would investigate the local providers of the signal. Cable company over compression, satellite up-down conversion and compression, local network uplink for local ABC station....all can be a source of signal degredation with so many intermediate links between you and the actual original ABC network source material.

Have you tried the direct over-the-air signal from your local ABC affialite station ? That is usually my test of where the problem is.
