Has anyone here put some back lighting behind their speakers and/or TV that is mounted to the wall? I am in the process of wiring my speaker cables and have been thinking about adding neon lights of some sort behind them. Was wondering if anyone had experience with the lights or anything. No idea what kind of lights I would need to get but was told by a friend I should get one that can be dimmed for sure.

If you watch TV completely in the dark many swear by back lighting the display with D65 lighting to eliminate eye strain and it also makes the blacks look deeper. Definitely NOT neon lighting though.

Neon lights was just the only way I can think of explaining what kind of effect I want to have. As of right now its not completely dark but it will be and I wanted to have some red lights ontop and below the TV and possibly behind the speakers.
I wanted to go with Red lights, but D65 is only white? Saw a few pictures of people using Rope Light on AVS forums is what I almost did but saw a few people saying to use D65 as well. Last edited by Death Dream; 08-31-2009 at 03:03 PM. |

I recommend you stick with D65 lighting so it doesn't change what the colors look like.

Well that is sadly disappointing. I wanted red back lighting lol
I'll stick with D65, thanks. ~Death Dream~ |
