Default Problems with transferring footage w/ i.Link Cable

Hi,
Im having trouble with the connection. I have a Sony HDR-FX1, and I connected it to my Mac via Sony i.Link Cable. I tried to get on Final Cut Pro and the Log and Capture option, but all I saw in the box were the colored bars saying Preview Disabled and at the bottom of the box it said. I Connected everything correctly to the camera and to the computer. I tried restarting everything but still nothing. How can I get this to work? I have a project due by friday so it would be awesome if I could get some help on this. Thanks a lot!

I'm not a Final Cut user, but virtually every time someone posts this problem it's because of a settings mismatch. If you shot in HDV, make sure you have an HDV project set up in your editor and make sure i.Link Conv is OFF in the cam.

If you set up a DV project, make sure i.Link Conv is ON if your footage is HDV.

It's a good idea to know your cam and NLE inside and out and have some practice with both before accepting a project on a deadline.
