Default MAGIX Video Pro X editing software for HD content

MAGIX releases its Video Pro X, a program for professional HD video editing & post production.

MAGIX Video Pro X imports video material from XDCAM camcorders and can natively edit AVCHD material or many other sources. Videos can be burned to DVDs or Blu-ray discs in Full HD (1080p)

Unhappy

I been trying for close to the entire trial period to output my project to DVD and have not succeeded. Tech support at Magix isn't quite sure what the problem is and has been very little help so far. I gave them my video specs asking that they provide me with the project settings to output to DVD. No response yet...
I captured video of the same event at the same time using 2 Canon HG10 cameras. Both were set at the same capture quality too. Audio was jacked into one camera from a soundboard where the other just used the cameras mic. I've put together the videos using multicam editing and it plays back within the application like it should. Once I start the transcoding process, it runs for about 2 hours then throws an error stating that there was a problem with the encoding. No error code, just a plain vanilla message. I've tried exporting the video into several format types and the completed files are 650mb. The video and audio are good for about 3 minutes then the video goes blank and there's just audio, then after about 2 minutes the audio goes out and the run time on the player just shows the rest of the 1hr 30+ minutes of what should be video.
I'm about to give up Magix and go back to Sony Vegas. It's a bit more work getting the clips synced, but it works.
If anyone out there has used Magix and has successfully created a DVD with a multicam project similar to mine, please let me know what I'm doing wrong.

Default Troubles with Magix Video

Did you ever resolve this issue. Just curious, Am trying to decide between the two programs myself. Since you have used Sony Vegas before, how do they compare? Thanks

Vegas has a bit more of a learning curve but surpass's majix in it's professional quality. Sony also has a trial download - give it a try.

I agree with oblioman.
I did finally get my project completed, but had to do it in 30 minute segments then take those segments and make the completed video.
In my frustration, I figured how to resolve the synchronization issue. At least for recording the same event at the same time. Have both of the cameras setting side-by-side, like touching, and use the record button on the remote to start both cameras. Since most events don't last over a couple of hours, the few seconds lost while repositioning the cameras is minimal to the amount of recording time a HDD camcorder has.
BTW, MAGIX never responded to my request for resolution. I saw where other people had the same experience with other different MAGIX software.

Default Sony Vegas vs Magix

Thank You for your responses, I just found them. I think I'm going with Sony Vegas, just not sure if Vegas Pro is an overkill for me. I will not be working with video cameras but old (usually) family movies and pictures doing a lot of cutting, rearranging, adjusting colors and just making nice (hopefully impressive) presentations. One thing I definitely want to do is some montages as in Pinnacle. If you haven't seen them, it is worth a trial just to see the competition, so to speak. They have the right idea, but they are however, very limited to the changes you can make - ie timing, #of photos, and no way that I can see, to make your own templates. etc. I'm not sure the best way to go here. I want to make those templates my way! I'm retired, limited income and want to do this for others and learning on my own. Thanks again guys!

We'll, I haven't dug real deep on Ulead Video Studio 11 Plus, but it has a lot of what you're looking for, for a lot less than Vegas. Plus the learning curve isn't as steep. You could try the pro version to see if it fits your needs too.
