Default High definition video editing software

Hello everybody out there!
I'm new to the group in fact this is my very FIRST post!

I recently got a JVC GZ-HD6 1920x 1080 (Hard Drive w/ hybrid SD card storage)Camcorder as a gift from my kins in LA. In the past I have been using a camcorder Mini DV format in SD resolution. I used to do my editing in Movie Magix Edit and it worked fine with my family vacation videos in SD. Now that I've moved on to FULL HD video can somebody please recommend what type of video editing software I can use with hi-def footages? I also have an HD DVD and BLU RAY Player to go with the LCD HDTV. I'm not too keen on very high end editors like Premier or Vegas.(Not only for the price but for the complexity and extra features that I don't really need) Something I can work on easily would be welcome. Any suggestions? Thanks!

A few people here have recommended Pinnacle Studio. I mainly use Premiere, but would have use Ulead Movie Studio and could recommend that as well for a lower cost solution.

Default HD video editor

Thanks for the advice. Yes I am also considering the newly released Pinnacle Studio Ultimate Edition too. Looks like I got a lot of good reviews about it. Meanwhile, I will to try to acquaint myself with an HDD full HD camcorder.

Default Go Mac

If you are making the change to HD. You might think about The Hardware too. I started out using a PC. for film editing. I was told about Final Cut Pro from a friend. Once I got on a MAC. WOW what a change. Software, "Final Cut Pro." If you are looking for a editing program working in the HDV format. It makes Life a lot easier. You can do just about anything with this software.

You can do as much with Adobe Premiere and it won't require buying a new computer. Its pricey though.

How much does Final Cut Pro go for?
