Mac --- catch, edit, burn hde DVD show in hde LCD

Hi people,

I have been using iMove & iDVD to catch and burn DVD over years. Now like to buy SONY HDR-SR7 to do high definition DVD.
I am using Mac G5, Dual 2.7 Ghz, 1Gb DDDR Sdram and few hundreds GB hd space.

Could someone please tell me what software do I need (for SR7) to download, catch up, edit, burn a hde DVD.
If I use right software, can I use my existing Mac DVD burner to burn a hde DVD?
I will also need to buy a new DVD player ( can play 1080i), to connect to my LG LCD D42 1.366x768 ( may distort bit for showing 1080i video)?
I guess people got good hde camrecorder, all want to know how can get it max best output at the end.

All you need is a software called "Voltaic"

All you have to do is drag and drop your AVCHD formated clips and it will do the rest. But better visit the site for more information. Its a great piece of work for just US$30. I just bought a HDR-SR7 as well. Its a great camera.

Using your current burner will only produce a SD dvd. If you want to burn and view high definition content - you must get an HD burner. No software in the world will do what you want. If you be looking for HD editing & rendering software,, the king of the heap for Mac users is Final Cut. For PC users, Sony's Vegas is a fine choice for software. Current HD burners - can you say Sony's BluRay!! Burners and media both readily available. Your other option is HD DVD burner - not so readily available + plus the media is only 15 gig.
