disconnecting HF20 from computer?

I just transferred videos to my computer for the first time. The camera has the warning about not disconnecting the usb cable on its screen. The instructions for the pixela software say "before disconnecting the usb cable, make sure to use the safely remove hardware function by clicking the icon in the system tray to end the connection to the camcorder." What does that mean and how/when can I unplug my camera?

Ok, finally figured that one out - did it through windows settings...
Now my next problem...
Now that the video is in the computer from the camera, how do I burn a disc from it? Sorry if these are very simplistic questions, but I'm new to this. I have the software that came with the camera, plus whatever came with Windows Vista & HP computer. Please help! I've promised Christmas show copies to a bunch of parents!!! Yikes!

First thing you need to do is to dump the pixela software that came with the camera and get some that work. Sony platinum Pro 9 and Pinnacle 14 both offer trial software that will get you on the way to making discs. The Sony is a two part download, Plat pro 9 and DVD Architect. Pinnacle 14 is an all in one and a bit easier to use. Both include user manual's and on-line tech tips.

Oblioman is always give good advice. But I have to clarify a little.
Sony movie studio 9 platinum pro pack is simply a package deal that is included DVD Architect and Sony Sound forge, Cinescore label as pro pack. Or Sony movie studio 9 Platinum that is not include Sony sound forge or Cinescore. This two version can be had for under $100.

Sony Vegas Pro 9 or Pro 8 this verson are professional grades that is cost 5-6 times more than the Sony movie studio 9 Platinum. The different is that all Sony movie studio offer limited number of audio and video tracks. While the Pro 8/9 have unlimited of video/audio tracks and offer multicamera editing and much more. Just want to share the information.

That be true Bruce. When you purchase platinum Pro 9, it does include dvd architect and Cinescore software. However, if you download the trial software, plat pro 9 and dvd architect are separate downloads. Vegas Pro software is directed towards a higher end use and really a bit of overkill for home use.

Movie Platinum 9 should not be written as Platinum Pro 9. It should be written as Sony Platinum 9 pro pack.
Sony website labeled it moive studio 9 platinum pro. As I mentioned above is simply a package deal and should not be written as platinum pro 9. Pro 9 is a higher end version. I had Vegas Pro 8 and I upgraded to Vegas Pro 9 that is why I know detail of this program.
