hf s100 - transferring video files w/o ac adapter?

I'm on an extended trip and completely forgot to bring the ac adapter for my HF S100 with me. Is there anyway I can transfer video to my computer w/o it? I think I'll have a hard time finding a replacement/spare ac adapter here but I might be able to find a card reader - might that work?

Using a card reader would be the only way. The Vixia line requires the AC adapter to transfer. No getting around that.
