Default Final Cut Pro Camera Settings with my HDV cameras

I am just starting to use Final Cut Pro 7 and I'm using a Sony HDR FX1 HDV and Sony A1U HDV cameras for capturing. I know that within FCP you have to make sure your settings are correct for your camera capturing and varies greatly. Does anyone out there know what settings to use with these cameras?

Thanks,
Jaime

Sure, just use the HDV1080i60 easy setup preset.

Lightbulb Difficulty in getting video into FCE4 with Sony HVR-A1U

I'm unable to get HD video from my HVR-A1U camera into FCE4. I have attempted many combination's but with no success. I have done the 'easy setup' using HDV-Apple Intermediate 1080i60 as was suggested. No luck.

My firewire port is OK. I have used to connect my firewire external drive.

Any ideas, help, or guidance would be appreciated.

Define "unable" and "no success." What steps do you follow and what is the result? Need more info.

Make sure i.Link CONV is OFF in your A1U and that VCR HDV/DV is set to HDV. All the settings must match or you won't have any success capturing. Also, while the FW port and cable on the Mac may be fine, the port could be blown on the cam, if the Mac doesn't even see the cam.
