Default Wall-E Home Theater Calibration

I originally set up my Sony BDP-S350 and Samsung LE40A786 using DVE and got good results. But then I came across the 'Maximize Home Theater' section of the new WALL-E blu-ray which seems to show up my black and white levels. I couldn't do anything at all to correct the gamma settings. Has anyone else tried to calibrate using WALL-E?

On newer Samsung just about everything can be pro cal'd from the user menu. Occasionally if there is not sufficient range the service menu may need a slight tweak for gamma.

Not sure how that's handled for your model, but here's one review and cal report for it.

Nice eye candy in that movie, BTW..and clever story..but have to say it was one of the most boring animation features for me. At least of the ones I would bother to watch.

If you have calibrated with DVE why would you want to change anything? If you are searching for a better picture, hire a professional calibrator.

While the THX Optimizer found on many films can be quite helpful and the Sony Blu Ray Disk test patterns are of some help if you are up to speed on what they do, the Wall-E system is the weakest consumer set up program I've seen to date.

L2W gave you the good stuff here. Use your DVE settings and then make minor tweaks for individual films if you wish.
