Help with Calibrating 2 Sony's KDL-52XBRA and KDL-40W4100

Hi everyone,

Trying to find the best custom setting for the 2 TVs listed above, they are older models that my grandpa has and they need some tweaking to get the best picture.

Any advice? I tried searching CNET with no luck.

Just use my sticky 10 steps above.

The W was one of Sony's best bangs for the buck they have ever made by the way. Tell grandpa he did Aok.!

Thanks guys,

The problem is I'm in Chicago and he's in Michigan, there is no way he can follow those steps. Does anyone have the best "settings" for these models or a way to find them? I know I'm taking the easy way out, but there's no way he can do that on his own.

Have him go into the menu( on the remote) and select either standard or if i remember correctly, movie as a picture preset.

If the room is well lit he might prefer standard while a darker setting the movie preset may be what he is after.

The good news is that he can switch to those or a few others then pick for himself never needing to actually change any of a dozen other numbers.

Snag a copy of the manuals from Sony and talk him through it over the phone if necessary.
