Default 8x dvd+r dl discs

does anyone have any problems playing 8x dvd+r dual layer dvds?? I've been thinking about burning some movies onto 8x dvd+r DL as the regular dvd-r and +r run without a hitch but it's that compression that usually kills quality

I have an HD-A3 running firmware v4.0

I use and have been using Verbatim 8x 8.5 GB DVD+R DL for several years without any problems. With the other brands of media I have made a lot of coasters but not with Verbatim and they play in any player I have put them in including all of my Toshiba HD DVD players.

do you see much compression issues with the dual layer discs?? I've mostly been using the 4.7gb single layer dvd-r's or dvd+r's. I heard there were a lot of issues when using the dual layers for video, some brands also having issues when burning data.

No problems at all, and much less compression than on single layer discs...

How are you decoding the movies before you burn them?
